- Hi Jolyon Ralph,
-
- I noticed that you wrote about Re: [Q] the BEST monitor, and I just had to reply thus:
-
- >> As I mentioned in a previous post, Amiga Computing US Edition recently
- >> reviewed the M1438S monitor and essentially said that in almost all
- >> respects it is a very bad monitor which made even the 1942 look good.

- > I find this very hard to agree with. We've got a dozen or so Amigas here,
- > in various configurations.
-
- I have to disagree here....
-
- > I've currently got a 1942 monitor on my A4000. It's a real pig to set up
-
- So have I. I bought my CBM 1942 in July 1993 and with the exception of a blown
- internal fuse, I have never (touch wood) had a problem with it.
-
- I cannot comment on the setting up difficulties with 3rd party grapfics cards
- because I haven't got one (yet).
-
- [Re:1942}

-
- Yes it does. I use it in SUPER72:Super-High Res Laced with a screen size of
- 800x610 (Maximum size possible is 912x628). This is using V40.4 of the Super72
- Monitor Driver with the following Tooltypes set:
-
- HBSTRT=0x06
- HBSTOP=0x21
- HSSTRT=0x16
- HSSTOP=0x20
- VBSTRT=0x0
- VBSTOP=0xFDC
- VSSTRT=0x9D
- VSSTOP=0x4A6
- TOTROWS=0x14e
- TOTCLKS=0x86
- BEAMCON0=0x1bb5

-
- I must have got a good one then.
-
- > Perhaps Amiga Computing had a duff one,
-
- Reckon so...
-
- >I wouldn't even touch a 1942 at half the price....
-
- I would..
-
- Cheers
